Research

Water & Environmental Engineering Research Group

The research carried out by this research group is innovative and covers areas of sustainable water resources and infrastructure modelling and management ranging from hydrology to hydraulics, open channels to pipelines, hidden Markov models to Artificial Neural Networks and the modelling and management of water supply infrastructure to that of natural water resources.

The Structures Group

The research carried out by the Structures Research Group is mainly focussed on the use of composite materials for structural retrofit of existing and the design of new structures to resist blast, wind and earthquake loading, as well as higher dead and live loads.

Mining and Geomechanics Research Group

The research conducted by this group at the University of Adelaide falls broadly into two categories - the use of Geostatistical Methods for applications in Mining Engineering and Foundation Design and the use of Geomechanics to solve problems across the full spectrum from hard rock to soft soil sites.
